The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has issued a directive stating that all field formations of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) will remain open on March 29, 30, and 31, 2025. The notification, dated March 28, 2025, was issued by the GST Policy Wing of CBIC and is addressed to all Principal Chief Commissioners and Chief Commissioners of CGST.
The communication highlights that these dates will be considered working days for CGST field formations to ensure smooth operations and compliance as the financial year concludes.
Officials have been directed to inform all officers and staff under their jurisdiction about the decision and ensure adherence. The directive was issued with the approval of the Competent Authority and was digitally signed by Raushan Kumar, Under Secretary to the Government of India.
This move aligns with previous years’ measures to facilitate tax compliance, particularly during the fiscal year-end period.
