15 Men Associated with PFI Found Guilty by Kerala Court in Murder Case of BJP Leader

15 men were found guilty on Saturday by a Kerala court of killing an OBC wing leader of the BJP in this coastal district in December 2021. The guilty individuals are connected to the Popular Front of India (PFI), a radical Islamist organization that has been outlawed.

On December 19, 2021, in front of his family, Ranjith Sreenivasan, the state secretary of the BJP for OBC Morcha, was viciously attacked and killed in his home. It is believed that PFI and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) activists were responsible for the attack.

The Additional District Sessions Court I, Mavelikkara, rendered the decision.

On Monday, the severity of the penalty will be announced.

The assassination of the BJP leader happened mere hours after K S Shan, the leader of the SDPI, was murdered by a gang on the evening of December 18, while he was making his way back to Alappuzha.
