CBIC Amends Customs Duty Rates On Cardamom, Crude Palm Oil, Etc: Know In Detail

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has amended the customs duty rates on cardamom, crude palm oil, etc.

This notification shall come into force from the 14th day of September, 2024.

The Board has amended the Notification 27/2011-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2011. Presently the Cardamom is exempted from the customs duty but after the amendment in the notification 20% Customs Duty shall be payable when exported out of India.

The Board has further amended the Notification No. 50/2017-Customs, dated the 30th June, 2017. Presently, the is exempted from the customs duty but after the amendment in the notification 20% Customs Duty shall be payable when exported out of India. The basic customs duty on refined palm, soybean and sunflower oil has been increased from 12.5% to 32.5%. 

The Board has further amended the Notification 11/2021-Customs, dated the 1st February, 2021. Presently, the 50% Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess has been levied on Crude Palm Oil, however it has been now reduced from 50% to 5%. Presently, the 20% Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess has been levied on Crude Soya-bean oil, however it has been now reduced from 20% to 5%.
