GSTN Temporarily Restores Access to Archived GST Returns Data For July and August 2017

Today, the Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) while redressing the grievances made by the trade community has notified the restoration of archived GST return on GST Portal for the months of July and August 2017. 

The GSTN issued an advisory on 24th September 2024 which was in respect of the archival of data older than 7 years. The GSTN has temporarily restored access to archived GST returns data for July and August 2017.

It is worthwhile to note that the data will only be available for a limited time. The archival process will resume after advance notice. 

If you need these records pertaining to July and August 2017 for compliance or audit purposes, ensure to download and save them before they are archived again.

“This data was archived in line with data archival policy. Data archival process was implemented on a monthly basis. Consequently, the return data for July, 2017 and August, 2017 was archived on 01st August and on 01st September respectively”, GSTN notified.

“However, in view of the requests received from the trade due to the difficulties faced, data has been restored back on the portal. We recommend you to download and save the data if needed, as the archival policy shall be implemented again after giving advance information”, the GSTN Added.
