Malaika Arora Skips Court Again in High-Profile Assault Case
Despite being summoned earlier, Malaika Arora did not appear before the court. This marks her second absence after the court first issued a bailable warrant on March 15, 2025. Her sister, Amrita Arora Ladak, who was also summoned, deposed before the court on March 29.
Due to Malaika’s continued absence, the court has reissued the ₹5,000 bailable warrant and instructed that a warrant report be submitted by April 29, 2025.
What Happened in the 2012 Saif Ali Khan Brawl Case?
The incident dates back to February 21, 2012, when Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, and others were dining at a five-star hotel in South Mumbai. During the meal, a verbal altercation reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation with Iqbal Mir Sharma, a South African national and non-resident Indian (NRI).
Sharma filed a complaint at Colaba police station, alleging that Saif Ali Khan punched him in the nose, causing a fracture. The complaint also named Shakil Ladak (Amrita’s husband) and Bilal Amrohi as co-accused in the assault.
Amrita Arora Testifies in Court
In her testimony on March 29, Amrita Arora stated that it was the complainant, Sharma, who was being aggressive and physically assaulted Saif Ali Khan during the scuffle.
Case Update and Next Hearing
The case has drawn significant public and media attention due to the involvement of several prominent Bollywood personalities. With the reissuance of the bailable warrant, the matter is now scheduled for further hearing following the submission of the warrant report.
