Final opportunity to update Aadhaar details at no cost! UIDAI releases updated guidelines

Update Aadhaar Card Details for Free: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has again extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar card details for free via the myAadhaar portal.

March 14, 2024 has been designated as the new deadline for the free update of Aadhaar details via the myAadhaar portal, previously set for December 15, 2023.

“Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 more months, i.e. from 15.12.2023 to 14.03.2024,” read the office memo from UIDAI released on December 11, 2023. As a result, until March 14, 2024, the ability to update documents will remain available for free via the myAadhaar portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

It should be noted that while updating an Aadhar card online is free, updating documents at an actual Aadhaar center costs Rs 25.

Why is it crucial that Aadhaar data is updated at all times?

If someone hasn’t updated their Aadhaar card information in the previous ten years, UIDAI has been pleading with them to do so. This is being done to put an end to Aadhaar-related scams.

“Please update your Aadhaar for continued accuracy of demographic information,” the UIDAI requested on their website. Among the data types that can be updated online are name, address, phone number, email address, gender, and date of birth. Only at actual Aadhaar centers are you able to update your photo, iris, or other biometric information.
